This adventure starts with a car trip through the tropical rainforest to the small town of Gamboa, where a boat trip awaits you. You will cruise along Gatun Lake and the Panama Canal to the Gigante Peninsula and to the Barro Colorado Natural Monument, which has been administered by the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute since 1946, and is considered the best protected and studied tropical rainforest in the world. You will hike along an interpretative trail through one of the most complex and diverse ecosystems, to observe a large amount of animal and plant species.
